Finally I get to run! Oh and a happy secret

So after two days off of running due to a super sore left frontal thigh (quad?) I finally felt good enough to get back out there! It was mildly sore walking out this morning but nothing bad enough to keep you from going. Through the first mile I felt like I was running sooo slow but I was really trying to push myself to a slower pace to ensure I wouldnt injure my legs on my first day back in. Well when I finished my first mile I discovered that first mile that felt slow..was my fastest mile yet at an 11 min pace YAY! My 2nd mile took 13 min but I think that is because Daphne had to poop in someones yard so I had to stop to pick it up....I think it would have been a 12 min mile otherwise. I am glad to see my pace is improving I thought I would always just be super slow! I think I would be pleased if I could ever get to a 10 min mile average.

so now for a happy secret...shhhhhh!!! I hopped on the scale this morning.....110 so down one more pound and thats after 2 days of not running! YAY!!! Happy dance!!

sad girl

So I was totally looking forward to my long run today. But after having my left frontal thigh so sore yesterday I took a shower last night gave it a nice long massage with massage oil and everything and took motrin before bed. Alas I awoke this morning to run and it feels only a tiny bit better. I decided not to push it so I didnt run. I will baby it again today and hopefully be able to get my long run in tomorrow. Very sad though....This is the first time an injury/sore muscle has prevented me from running. But I do love my legs and need them to stay strong and healthy sooo I will try to give it what it needs...a rest.

2nd post for today...

So I just wanted to say my right frontal thigh is feeling better...still a little tight and sore but not bad...however my left frontal thigh is really tight and really sore....I wish I was getting a full body massage today! Already took motrin to help keep it under control...any other ideas?

whos hotter?

So today was miserably hot....running in 76 degree HUMID heat....I almost didnt go...but I did! both my right and left frontal thigh were sore from the very beginning...not sure why. They did still work fine however. Between the heat and the humidity I was sweating like a pig...and sweating is very strange for me since I do not sweat much. This run felt like a struggle had to push myself the whole time but finished with 12 min mile pace so that is awesome! I really dont feel like I have had a comfortable run all week so thinking about doing 4 miles tommorrow instead of the 5 or 6 I was hoping to be able to do :(

its biting my toe!

was 69 and humid when I began my run (which is cooler than it has been lately) and was 73 and humid when I finished.

I forgot my ipod again so I had to listen to the pitter patter of my feet and the jingle of Daphnes collar. Overall a good run as I improved my time a bit....finally hit that 12 min mile pace YAY! As I began my first mile the ball of my left foot felt a little achy...I am thinking I need new padding in my shoes...not sure how I would have wen thru this padding so quickly but who knows...may steal the padding out of my other shoes and try that to see if that resolves the problem. The achiness did go away after probably the first 1/4 mile. At the beginning of mile 2 something started biting my big toe of my right foot everytime I would step down....must have gotten a splinter or something in there...didnt bother stopping just kept running...it is still there even as I type..probably should check that out. I was almost done with mile 2 when my leg muscles began to feel a little tight and I got a stitch in my left side. They went away almost immediately so I wonder if it was my brain just being crazy (not sure why my brain is acting that way....2 days in a row now). And that is all I have to report run wise.

In other news hopped on the scale this morning as usual....one pound less :) So down to 111 now....we will see if it stays off :) It actually felt really great when I hit that this morning....In the few years that I was fat I would have been happy to get back to 125 but always knew in the back of my head that I would feel best between 103 and 115. I know that is a big weight range so let me explain. Muscle weighs more than fat. There was a point in my life where I was very musclely and 115 and totally happy with my body...soo if i am very musclely then 115 is perfect for me....if I have like no muscle then 103 is perfect. I suspect I will find my self completely happy with by body somewhere between 105 and 111..... Although if I never lost another pound I would be completely thrilled to live the rest of my days at 111.....I really feel like I have come so far and accomplished so much! God truly has blessed me and I cannot believe how the weight has been falling off....I really havent felt like I have been trying....I eat what I want....though I generally try to make healthy choices because I want a healthy body. And I didnt start running as a means to lose weight....it was to get healthy and cope with life. Anyway can I get a hip hip hooray for my success? OMG i cant believe I am 111....seriously that is almost 110...which is almost 109 or less...anything below 110 sounds insane! YAY!!!

111 pounds.. :)

Brain commence shutdown in 3..2...1

was out the door at 5:43 am forgot my ipod. The sun was still coming up so there was a bit of a sunrise and the birds were chriping and singing to welcome the new day. My first mile was a little tough after a day off but the wind blew just enough to cool me down and keep going. The 2nd mile had no wind :( I was almost finished with the running portion of mile 2 when my brain just up and decided it did not want it or my body to go any further and I felt I should stop and do nothing more. I found it odd because my body was not in pain or struggling...in fact mile 2 was feeling way easier than mile 1! I told my brain it was goofy and kept going. the end.

Monday hot and heavy

nothing spectacular to share about this run. 72 degrees felt really hot this morning the run felt hard and slow even though it was at my as of lately normal pace 12 1/2 min mile. I have determined it is because it was a run after a day off. Seems like all of my runs after a rest day feel harder. Doesnt really make sense but whatever. I am also on my period...maybe that plays into it?? naw....cuz I was also on my period thurs frid and sat when i ran and those were all good runs. hum. well anyway... thats all ta ta for now!

Am I a runner now??

Rolled out of bed at 4 am yes...thats right...4am. Was out the door and hitting the pavement by 4:34. My first 2 miles were in total darkness and a little scary I just kept praying for protection and peace and kept going. I finished those first 2 miles with a fair amount of ease..for me anyway sat down and had some watermelon and water then headed back out. By now the sky was beginning to light up and the sun began to cast its light. The birds were cheerfully singing their morning songs and everything around me waking up rejuvenated me and I made it through those 2 miles with ease and at a slightly faster pace than my first 2.

So I am super proud of myself....first of all for running 4 miles with a fair amount of ease. I really thought it would be a lot harder but I guess I have truly conditioned my body properly for the increase in mileage and that is a good and strong feeling. I am also super proud of myself for waking up and getting that mileage in before the majority of people in my time zone are even thinking about getting up....especially on a saturday!

This run was so exhilerating and I feel so much accomplishment in having completed it. What an incredible way to start the day I wish everyone could get into this! Have a wonderful day world!

the Dragons flame

UGH even though I was out of the house before 7 it was still hot out! 74 degrees and humid. I felt as though there was a fire breathing dragon torching me from all sides. This run started out tough I felt sluggish like a 500 pound person trying to run. But once I got started things began to get easier. My boobs were complaining about me hitting the pavement but they will just have to deal with it or I will chop em off! I think something may be going on with my shoes....well at least my left one...the ball of my foot felt different....not quite right...not in pain....not anything like that....just like maybe there was a lot of pressure on it and it was hitting something hard instead of something soft.....wondering if maybe I have blown through the cushioning on these shoes already. (I did go thru the cushioning on my last shoes rather quickly too.) Now that I have finished my run I am feeling pretty good. Looking forward to a REALLY EARLY LONG run tomorrow. Wish me luck it wont be easy!

a running tale

started my run this am with my right knee bothering just a bit. As soon as I was running and not walking though it was fine. I also realized there is no doubt I am pms because as soon as I began running my boobs were telling me about it! Even with a great sports bra they still move just enough to make me cringe with discomfort. I always have to laugh at Daphne because after we finish our first mile she runs through the grass and licks the grass capturing the sparkling dew droplets on her tongue. The funny thing is this is the only place she does this....sooo not sure if the dew there tastes or smells better? Overall I felt this was a pretty strong run even though I had a few obstacles and aches and pains to overcome. Oh and I think it is safe to say I have lost a pound....I am pms and have been one pound less for the last 4 days. HIP HIP HOORAY! In addition I redid my measurements the other day and I am an inch smaller in both thighs 1/2 inch smaller in hips and one inch smaller in waist! YAY Thank you running!

tight booty run

so I headed out the door this am for my 2 mile run. I was wondering if it was a good idea or not but headed out anyway. well I wasnt certain you see because my right butt cheek was nice and tight and a little sore. I went anyway. It didnt give me any trouble throughout my run except that I could notice it was tight....and that even improved as I got into my run. The first mile went great lungs and body felt great it was 72 and partly cloudy so it felt nice and cool. The second mile felt a little warmer...perhaps because my body was warming up. The last part of my 2nd mile which I walked I could feel my booty working as I walked....but not working as in like the muscles contracting and relaxing.....like working as in it almost felt as though it had a mind of its own and was almost bouncing as it swished from side to side. Ever see one of those skinny bitches with a perfect round perky booty walking down the beach how the butt stays perky but somehow bounces...not in a bad way and swishes....I felt like my booty was doing that...and it made me feel cute :)

Blah run

ran 2 miles this am....my body wasnt cooperating...my lungs werent cooperating...was a sad run. but I did finish at a 13 1/2 min pace which is still better than my beginning pace of 14 1/2. I do feel much better that it is done and look forward to my next run.

Sedalia run....4miles??? nope

So I have to start by saying that I partied way to hard last night and ended the evening clinging to the porcelain throne. With that said I awoke this morning basically feeling like shit. But I was determined to get my 4 mile run in. I got up had some watermelon and water and relaxed hoping waiting for my stomach to relax. That never happened so eventually I gave up and got dressed and Lloyd and I headed out for a 4 mile run around Sedalia. We started with a nice slow pace but about 2 miles into our run walk it became just a walk...of course it also transformed from 4 miles to more like 5 or 6 miles too....I really wished I had taken my camera with so I could post some pics but alas I did not. We went over the neatest bridge with railroad tracks below it, picked fresh berries off of a mulberry tree, went by a slew of historical homes that were too neat to describe, went by old buildings (the brick kind with the painted advertisements on the side gorgeous), enjoyed journeying on a part of the Katy trail, went thru 3 different parks and more I am sure I have forgotton. Needless to say next time I run here I will definitely be carrying my camera! I didnt feel good at all through this run but I did feel good once I got back to the house had some food and stretched. I think thats all I got.

6-12-09 run

Run this morning was a cool 62 starting out. Once I got going it felt about perfect. There was a dense fog and as I ran I could feel the water droplets hitting my face for some added cooling refreshment. Lungs and body felt good this morning and I could have pushed myself harder but holding off for my 4 miles tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Easy Run

so I did my normal 2 mile run today. For the first time since I have started running again I felt my body, mind and lungs working in unison. I felt great throughout my run and really felt as though I could have pushed myself more by running more of the distance but I held myself back since I know I have a 4 mile training run on saturday. I also did run with my ipod so maybe that helps more than I realized. Anyway it felt awesome actually felt a little bit easy!

back to the running

so after a day off yesterday I was eager to get back out there and running today. However after staying up late last night...getting out of bed this morning was a bit of a challenge. I did finally rouse myself from bed and headed out after some watermelon of course. The run felt pretty good on my lungs which is usually what keeps me from running more or faster. However I felt like my body was holding me back somewhat today. Ended up finishing at a 14 min mile pace I had been averaging a 12 or 13 min mile. perhaps tomorrow will be back to my new pace. Still glad and thankful I ran and dont regret it one bit even if it was slower than i hoped.

3 mile monday

ran 3 miles this morning and actually didnt feel like i was going to die! Run felt pretty comfortable so next week I may go for 4 miles. Things that however irritate me...people who let their seemingly unfriendly dogs run loose in the front yard unattended when they have a fucking fenced in back yard!!! This slowed down my run a bit as I had to stop and yell no about 5 times to keep the dog from coming near Daphne and I. At first I was frustrated with the dog but then I realized I should be frustrated with the dumbass owner. Other than that I had a wonderful run! I will miss it tomorrow!

oops out playing

so after church today there was a church bbq at the park....I was talked into playing a game of very windy wiffleball and ended up burnt burnt burnt.. sooo do you like the new look?

Sunday Run- Blessed

Wow. I had a strong run today....didnt better my time or anything but finally yes finally after 2 weeks of running...that 2 miles...didnt seem so hard! YAY for little victories! There was one point during my run where I took a walk break....while I was walking I could feel the muscles in my butt contracting and releasing....it was soo cool to be able to actually feel my muscles working and it made me feel sooo strong!

Oh and running really is changing my body! looked in the mirror this AM...that butt is getting perkier! You know the skinny bitches in magazines that always have that perfect glorious smooth but round ass......MINE IS ALMOST THERE!!! Hip hip hooray!

Thank you God for blessing my sunday run!

Run with Momma

woke up bright and early this morning....6:08...yuck...got ready and headed out for a run with my Momma. We went at a nice easy pace and walked whenever she needed. She is used to running but usually only does a mile instead of 2 and also isnt used to the hills...where she runs is pretty flat. We had a nice time and made it home just in time to stretch quickly and head out yardsaling with my sister. We were out until probably 1pm and were completely exhausted. Mom and I did not find much....seems the things we did find were severely overpriced...(seems the economy is having an effect on yardsale prices :( boo!) I did get a few things...a pair of shorts 2 skirts and a cute bench that was a total steal! My sister however was looking for kids clothings and hit the jackpot....she probably spent 60 bucks....on mostly 25cent items....her laundry room is now full....practically to the ceiling (slight exaggeration) seriously though....she did good! From there we went to some Chuckwagon races out in the middle of no where.....now....talk about entertainment...this is it! If you havent been...which I suspect you havent...find them...go...enjoy!

btw here is a link to the NCCR (National Championship Chuckwagon Races)....I know who knew. This is not the location I went to but might give you an idea of what to expect!

Do I have to?

got up to run this morning....was super tired...and both nostrils were completely clogged from sinuses...I had cherries pre run instead of watermelon and they made my tummy do flips....this was not looking to be a good run. Forgot my ipod at home....it really was a very uncomfortable run. but about 30 mins after I finished it I felt a million times better my nose cleared and I was thankful I had ran! In fact all day I was glad I had ran I feel so much better when I run in the am just makes my whole day better!

until next time....run when you dont feel like it!

ahhhhh

ran 2 miles this morning after taking yesterday off...had to literally drag myself out of bed to do it....The run felt great and I couldnt believe how different my body felt after taking just 1 day off! Really thats about all I have to say about it...oh no....I realized my ipod selection sucks for running...i spent my whole run tapping next to go to the next song in hopes i would find something good to run too....didnt have much luck....I certainly did a lot more tapping than listening...I need to fix this as it takes my focus off my run.
